Creative Classes & Workshops for Adults

Classes

Creativity Class

Have fun exploring your imagination and creative potential. Students will use exercises in creative writing, photography, sculpture and music to illustrate the world of creativity and access their own creative power. These exercises will illustrate core creative concepts, such as risk-taking, tolerating uncertainty, optimism, divergent thinking and the imagination.

Clowning Workshop

Fail beautifully, play boldly, release your inner idiot. 

In this on your feet workshop, we’ll explore clown history, archetypes and playful exercises in presence, connection, and laughter. No experience needed, just a willingness to be wonderfully silly.

Shereen Hickman

Shereen is best known as a creator/lead clown for the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil. Starring as Ginger in Zumanity in Las Vegas, then going on to Broadway to create the leading female role of Margaret in Banana Shpeel (directed by David Shiner) and then touring under the Big Top as Deeda in Amaluna (with Tony award winning director Diane Paulus). Shereen most recently was on tour as “Grandma” in The Addams Family National Tour 2025 (directed by Antoinette DiPietropolo).  

When not on tour, she spends her days collaborating with established comedy/circus artists, performing in live theatrical events, coaching up-and-comers, instructing Improv for adults and creating her own original works. She continues her love of circus performing and collaborating as Marguerite with Parallel Exit in Sunset Circus.

Phoebe Farber

Phoebe is a practicing psychotherapist (MSW, Ph.D.) who has worked with clients in a private practice for over 25 years.  She is a professor at Montclair State University, where she teaches a course on creativity, the creative process and ways to cultivate a creative mindset.  She is a co-founder of Building Creative Minds, an organization that leads residencies and workshops in creative thinking as a tool for resilience, rejuvenation and empowerment.  She has travelled to England, Scotland, Israel and Sweden to lead classes in accessing the creative spark that exists within all of us.  Phoebe is a Fulbright Scholar and co-author of the upcoming textbook Igniting the Spark: Activating your Creative Mind.  

Withdrawls, absences, and refunds

All tuition payments must be received one week before the class begins. After this date, please contact us for availability.

Should you find it necessary to withdraw from your class, the following refund schedule will apply:
​
Withdrawal 20 days before class begins:     100% refund    
Withdrawal 10 days before class begins:       50% refund
Withdrawal 5 days before class begins:         25% refund
​
No refund for withdrawal fewer than 5 days before class begins.
