Among the many other programs that travel outside the walls of our theatre, the bilingual show Mi Casa Tu Casa represents a new relationship for Dreamcatcher. Originally created at Luna Stage in West Orange, the show is now being presented in association with Dreamcatcher and is available for touring. Read on for more information!
Mi Casa Tu Casa
Mi Casa Tu Casa is a bilingual blend of music and folktales for the entire family. Musicians and storytellers are your guides on this journey through time, place, and imagination. Mi Casa Tu Casa was co-created by Michael Aquino, Deivis Garcia, Jane Mandel, and Dania Ramos. The original version, a holiday show, premiered at Luna Stage in 2012.
Mi Casa Tu Casa es una mezcla bilingüe de música y cuentos para toda la familia. Los musicos y cuentistas serán sus guías en este viaje a trav és del tiempo, lugares y la imaginaci ón. Mi Casa Tu Casa fue originada por Michael Aquino, Deivis Garcia, Jane Mandel, y Dania Ramos.
The touring version of Mi Casa Tu Casa offers favorite tales and songs in an hour-long show that celebrates joy and magic found throughout the year. The current production, directed by Jane Mandel, features Michael Aquino, Jane Keitel, Chris Kent, and Alicia Rivas.

About the Co-creators
Michael Aquino is an actor, musician, and singer-songwriter. Performance credits include Sheldon Harnick’s musical Dragons and Ibsen’s Ghosts at Luna Stage. Michael is the creator and host of Indie Music Circus, a showcase for independent musicians.
Deivis “Deivito” Garcia is a Spanglish singer-songwriter based in Jersey City, NJ. He enjoys learning folkloric music of the Americas and synthesizing their sounds into music that reflects his perspective as a New Jerseyan of Puerto Rican and Bolivian descent.
Jane Mandel has had a career in the theatre as actress, director, teacher and producer. She is the founder and AD Emeritus of Luna Stage in West Orange, NJ. She’s created and directed several devised theatre pieces, including In the Name of the Woman, We don’t have enough sugar for the public, The American Project, and Mi Casa Tu Casa.
Dania Ramos is a playwright and children’s book author. She was a runner-up in Repertorio Español’s 2013 MetLife Nuestras Voces National Playwriting Competition and a former New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship in Playwriting recipient.
