In the summer of 2014, DRT presented a series of solo works as readings at MONDO, the cultural gathering place in downtown Summit (www.mondosummit.com). The series was received with enthusiasm, so we plan to return to MONDO for more solo readings in the summer of 2015…or earlier!
Watch this space for new dates and titles during the summer of 2015.

101 Humiliating Stories by Lisa Kron
Lisa Kron dives deep into the universal experience of humiliation. With charm and intimacy, the play shares a series of humiliations past, present, and future, including exquisitely detailed anecdotes like “Geeky Celebrity Encounters” and “How I Spent All the Petty Cash From My Office on Makeup.” An invitation to perform at her high school reunion in Lansing, Michigan, triggers another series of anxiety-filled fantasies. How will she, a lesbian East Village performance artist, cope with her Midwestern classmates? 101 Humiliating Stories is evocative, moving, and, overall hilarious.
“On the surface 101 Humiliating Stories is a lighthearted monologue that touches only glancingly on sexual political issues. But underneath, it is a subtle and intriguing exploration of the nature of performance.”

Now 42 and an established New York actor, he has transformed his story into a riveting, often funny and always surprising journey through the complexities of Catholicism, desire and human trespass.
“A translucent memoir of a play…shattering.” —NY Times. “Powerful.” —NY Post. “Surprising and moving! Startling, marvelously told.” —NY Newsday.
